I’m a postdoctoral researcher and writer living in Belgium.* I received my Masters degree from The University of Adelaide, Australia, before moving abroad for a PhD in literary studies. I’m interested in topics like science and literature, animals, emotion, and ethics. I’ve written and co-written widely on these topics and published in journals such as SubStance, American Imago, and ISLE. I am the author of the book Science and Affect in Contemporary Literature: Bodies of Knowledge (Bloomsbury 2025) and am currently working on a monograph on human and animal experimentation in literature from 1945 to the present. For more on my academic work, including a list of publications and presentations, see Research.
As well as academic research, I write creatively—especially short stories and essays that also explore the weird and wonderful world of science and the range of epistemological and ethical issues it raises.
I love collaboration and conversation, so if something catches your eye, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
